WestJet Credit Cards Canada 2026: Which Is Best for You?

WestJet Rewards works differently from Aeroplan — you earn WestJet dollars, not points. Here's how to choose between the WestJet RBC Mastercard and World Elite.

WestJet Rewards is different from most Canadian loyalty programs: instead of points you have to decipher, you earn WestJet dollars — actual dollar amounts that go directly toward the cost of a WestJet flight. One WestJet dollar = one Canadian dollar off a booking. There's no award chart to learn and no blackout dates.

WestJet RBC World Elite Mastercard

The WestJet RBC World Elite Mastercard ($119/year) earns 2% back in WestJet dollars on WestJet flights and WestJet Vacations bookings, and 1.5% on everything else. It includes an annual companion voucher (a flight ticket for $119 base fare for one companion) and a free first checked bag for the cardholder and up to eight companions on the same booking. The companion voucher alone is worth $200–$600+ depending on your route.

Who Should Get a WestJet Card?

WestJet cards make most sense if: you fly WestJet at least 2–4 times per year, you want simplicity (no redemption complexity), you value the free checked bag benefit, or you travel with family and the companion voucher fits a route you'd fly anyway. If you want to fly international business class on partner airlines, Aeroplan is more powerful. WestJet dollars are best for domestic Canada and sun destinations.
